THE SWAZI WRAPPER
Shaldon Kopman - South African fashion's ‘Renaissance Man’ started his career in the fashion industry as a model and moved on to become a stylist, where he was schooled in the art of fashion in cities like New York, Paris, Milan, Melbourne, Amsterdam and Dubai.
Shaldon has developed a reputation and panache for dressing international celebrities who include Samuel L. Jackson, Boris Kodjoe and Vikter Duplaix. His designs have even reached the ‘White House’ having created unique South African fashion pieces for both Michelle and Barack Obama.
Shaldon launched Naked Ape, a bespoke brand, in 2010. In December 2014, Naked Ape opened its flagship store in Rosebank offering bespoke, tailored garments by master craftsmen, as well as ready-to-wear attire, shoes and accessories.
The Swazi Wrapper featured in the AFARA Group portfolio is very close to Shaldon's heart as it reinforces his belief in clothing that is sustainable and eco-friendly.
